Smiles of Nature

My hollow that lay dormant over the winter has sprung to life! Easter, bringing the reminder of rebirth here on earth and the precious promise of rebirth in heaven left us with a riot of colors.

One of the most vivid colors of spring is yellow. First the crocus poked their heads through snow and ice bringing yellow encouragement. Daffodils soon followed with their sweet blooms that spring from gardens planted many years ago by women that loved this old farmhouse. I am now the tender of their love of home and family as shown through the lovely flowers that ring trees and line walkways. The spring house surprises me each year with some blossoms planted decades ago.

The forsythia bush, as we mountain folk refer to as a yellow-bell bush, outdid it’s self this year. The mountain elders were fond of saying” You could nigh on find a place to lay your finger where a blossom didn’t rest.”

As many of you know, I use my yellow- bell bush as a prayer touch point. I tie ribbons on the bush as reminders to pray for people and situations that need His grace. When I see the ribbons flying in the wind I remember to release the requests to Him. I believe those prayers for those requests ride the winds into His presence.

“He causes the vapors to ascend from the end of the earth; Who makes lightings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries.” Psalm 135:7

The latest to bloom are the Iris in solid colors and color combination that only the Master Gardner could have imagined and breathed to life.

I pray spring breathes rebirth into your lives, sweet readers. Take the time to enjoy the beauty and blessings of the season.

Come go home with me again soon.

    1. Thank you so much, sweet friend...lovely having you visit. I am praying for your health. I had four major surgeries on my vocal cords and know how hard it can be dealing with vocal cord issues.
