Owing as to the Gazette print machine needed serious repairs, and the parts were all the way in Virginia, we had to skip a few volumes. So we're catching up now!

Hollow Happenings:
Christmas Kitty
Princess Kitty |
I did get news that there was a bit of a mishap over at Olive and Lester Cavin's home on Christmas Eve. Seems Olive's tender heart insisted Lester let the little kitten that had taken up residence on their porch, come in out of the freezing weather. Olive assured Lester she would clean up after the kitty she had taken to calling Princess Kitty.
Princess Kitty loved sleeping under the tree...Olive said she thought because the lights were warm and therefore much to her liking. Traveler, the hollow dog had decided to stay with the Cavin's for the holidays. All was well between the critters until Lester rolled the dog's ball accidentally under the tree startling little Princess Kitty awake.
Well, Princess Kitty up and flew up the tree trunk taking with her ornaments, lights and tinsel galore. Sweet mercy, Traveler just wanted his ball which had landed in the water bowl in the tree's stand and he knocked the tree over. As the tree was heading for the floor Princess Kitty jumped off the tree and slap-dab into the fish tank.
The facts get a little fuzzy about here, but we do know Olive dried Princess Kitty, checked on the health of the fish and gave Traveler a large treat as Olive felt the need to hide the ball under the kitchen sink to prevent future mishaps.
Lester cleaned up the tree and set the living room to rights. At the last report everyone is forgiven and Christmas was saved at the Cavin's house.
Marcella Caney invites everyone over to Hair Dos and Makeup Don'ts shop to celebrate the new year with her New Year, New You promotion. Marcella suggests you try something daring to set the tone for this year...maybe a purple hair streak. Every customer will receive an eyebrow brush with a ten dollar or more eyeshadow purchase...new colors galore! And she'll even demonstrate how to use it.
Our oldest hollow resident, Prudence Randall, reported an anonymous party cleared her driveway of snow a week ago. I love how we here in Thistledown Hollow pitch in to help each other...if only the world had more of this behavior it would be a better place. Let's all practice more kindness this new year dear people.

The holiday services at both of Thistledown's churches were a blessing. Save the fact that little Corey Helms stepped on the tail of Bobby Franklin's donkey costume causing him to knock the two little sheep into the manger. Seems they fell so fast, little Sally lost one shoe and appears she had holes in her stockings. But we tried to not pay any mind to it.
We here in Thistledown Hollow wish you a happy New Year filled with health and blessings. May God watch over our little community as we work, play and worship in our wonderful Appalachian Mountains.
Come early and stay late.
Love,
