The Hollow's Famous Dog

Dear Sweet Reader,

I've received several questions regarding Traveler. For you new readers, Traveler is the hollow dog that we all here in Thistledown Hollow feed and care for. Traveler has the uncanny ability to recognize who needs a visit from him. Take for instance, the other week when the Gilmore twins, Krista and Carla were ill. Traveler stayed a few days with the girls until they were back-in the-pink. Good Dog, Traveler. No one here in the hollow knows how the sweet dog found his way to Thistledown...we all just are happy he did. Corey Akers said the other day after church that Traveler seemed to know who would have the best supper leftovers on any given night. I got a call the other day from the newspaper wanting to do a story on Traveler...we are hoping the fame won't go to his head.

Murry Crammer has opened a new thrift store named At Any Given Time. Now, Murry says you never know what he will have for sale at any given time...thus the name for the store. I, your editor, had a fun time sifting through all the interesting items in spread among several rooms. I found a box of old Christmas cards and a couple of Shiney Bright Christmas ornaments. TIP: If you see something you might want...go ahead and get it...it will probably be gone when you come back to get it...trust me I know this as truth.

Hollow Happenings

Next month we Thistledownians will start meeting to make plans for the Hollow Hunt. We already have some great suggestions for this years Easter egg hunt! Please be thinking of ways you can contribute to the fun and enjoyment of all of our hollow families. I will keep you updated as what we need.

Caro Sither had a bad tangle with a small limb from her maple tree...the limb won! We have had some high winds in the hollow for several month and limbs are down everywhere. Well, Caro had a handful of small limbs and was heading for the wheelbarrow when her foot got tangled in what she called a nest of skinny limbs. She said it was if the limbs reached out to her leg and pulled her down. Caro broke her shoulder and is sporting a sling. The church ladies have organized and a food-train is in place. Caro said the tree is very lucky she did not have it cut down...she reckoned it was her fault and not the beautiful maples. She also admits to having on a cute pair of strappy sandals she found at Carson's Shoes. Get better soon, Caro.

We here at the gazette want to welcome a new sponsor...Sunny's Soda Shoppe. Sunny said the soda counter is a wonderful place to have an ice cream treat and remember days past. A juke box stands at the ready to play your favorite tunes. Sunny's attire will consist of a poodle skirt and saddle oxfords. What fun!!!

I was so happy to see Ferris Hughes mending his fence in anticipation of the cows return. The post were old and had been in need of repair for sometime. I jokingly call him Ferris The Farmer and his helper, Dale.

The new calfs are so much fun to watch run and play and give the hollow a lot of joy. Ferris said he would turn his attention next to barn repairs after his thumb heals...this editor thought it best to not enquire as how the injury occurred after he just finish the fence.

Words of Wisdom

"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much."  Helen Keller

Thistledownians, be sure to give Traveler a pat on the head (and possibly a treat) when he stops by your way.

Much love,

Ruby Lee
